“Don’t forget to pack me!”

Jared and I are working on packing up from the back of our home to the front.
Over the past few days, we’ve packed up most of the yard.
Today, we emptied my closet and packed/set aside our traveling clothes. The bedroom is almost empty.
Next is the bathroom, which is easy.
Then the two big rooms: office and kitchen.
So with three days left I hope it goes like this:
Tuesday: Completely empty/pack/make ready the yard, bedroom and bathroom. Except for the bare necessities: bed, toiletries, etc.
Wednesday: Completely empty/pack/make ready the office. Except for the computer - that’s packed up last.
Thursday: Completely empty/pack/make ready the kitchen.
Friday morning: Break down the bed and the computer. Do all the laundry (sheets, towels, traveling clothes). Load the truck.
Friday evening: Clean and/or relax as needed.
Saturday: Clean, clean, clean. I want to leave this place better than I found it and let’s just say it was spotless when we moved in.
I hope I feel a motivating kick in the pants soon! I also hope this is a good plan.

Stamp collecting is fun. At my local Post Office. I must say: not the most convincing ad.

Why is dog-tron lying this way? I’ve never seen him rest with his back legs splayed.

Actually, these were the first flowers this year. I believe the grape hyacinth came up last month and the daffodils just a week or two ago.

The moving supplies arrived today, and now there is nothing in the way of our packing everything we own into a truck and sending it on its way.
I had no idea moving was such an industry. So far we have used/ordered/have yet to use:
8 rolls of packing tape
12 furniture pads
250 sq. ft. of bubble wrap
countless SN&Rs
20 small moving boxes (1.5 cu. ft. each)
2 tarps
1 drop cloth
1000 ft. x 5 in. of stretch film
and Jared’s nice collection of plastic totes, tie-down straps and rope
I’ve linked all the above supplies to the suppliers I found to have the best prices for each item. For some reason, Home Depot’s website has the moving boxes at a higher price than my Home Depot. Check them out in person, they are the least expensive boxes I’ve found so far.
The tarps are to protect our boxes from dirt and water while they are in the truck. We need two: one to go underneath all our things and one to drape over them. The drop cloth is for the fact that we’re going to put the cats in the rear of Jared’s car. Although they’ll have a litter box, we want to make sure there’s no way they have an accident in the car. Cat pee is almost impossible to get rid of, scent-wise.
I can’t believe how quickly this move has come together. In less than two weeks, we’ve got everything we need. It’s nice to be reminded of how capable I am.
